Facials for Dry Skin in Spokane

Dry skin can feel tight, rough, flaky, or uncomfortable. At Back Bar, your facial is adjusted around what your skin needs that day rather than following one fixed dry-skin treatment.

Comfort. Replenish. Support.

Does this sound like your skin?

Dry skin does not produce enough oil to keep the surface feeling naturally soft and comfortable. Your skin may:

♥ Feel tight after cleansing
♥ Become uncomfortable as the day goes on
♥ Look rough, dull, or flaky
♥ Make makeup sit unevenly
♥ Feel more sensitive during cold or dry weather
♥ React easily to exfoliation or strong products

Dry skin can still become clogged, oily in certain areas, or experience breakouts. That is why I do not assume that dry skin simply needs heavier products. The first step is understanding what is happening across your whole skin, not only the areas that feel dry.

  • Weather and environment

Dryness can be influenced by the weather, your cleanser, exfoliation, medications, hormonal changes, inconsistent moisturizing, or products that are too stimulating for your skin.

  • Over-exfoliation

Sometimes visible flaking leads people to exfoliate more often. But when skin already feels dry or reactive, stronger scrubs and frequent exfoliation can leave it feeling even more uncomfortable.

  • Looking at the full picture

During your appointment, we will look at everything that may be affecting your skin before deciding what it needs.

What will you look at during my facial?

I look beyond the dry patches.

I also consider:

♥ Where your skin feels tight or sensitive
♥ Whether you are also experiencing congestion or breakouts
♥ What cleanser, exfoliants, and moisturizers you are using
♥ How often you change products
♥ Seasonal and environmental changes
♥ How your skin responds as we move through the facial

This helps me decide how much exfoliation, hydration, massage, masking, and finishing support makes sense for you that day.

What happens during a facial for dry skin?

Your facial may include gentler exfoliation, layered hydration, facial oil, a comforting mask, additional massage, or fewer stimulating products.

The goal is not to cover your skin in the richest products possible.

The goal is to help your skin feel softer, calmer, replenished, and more comfortable without overwhelming it.

Because every appointment is customized, the products and techniques may change from one visit to the next as your skin, routine, and the seasons change.

Which facial should I book?

Choose the facial length based on the amount of time and experience you want.

You do not need to select a separate dry-skin treatment or know exactly what products your skin needs before you arrive. Once I see your skin and we talk through your routine, I will adjust the products, exfoliation, massage, mask, and finishing steps for you.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How often should I get a facial for dry skin?

That depends on your skin, routine, the season, and your goals. Some clients benefit from appointments every four to six weeks, while others come in seasonally or whenever their skin feels especially dry or uncomfortable. We can decide what makes sense after your first appointment.

Will my skin peel after the appointment?

Usually, no. A facial for dry skin should leave your skin feeling comfortable, not stripped. Exfoliation is adjusted to your skin, and visible peeling is not the goal. Mild flaking can still happen if your skin was already very dry or irritated.

Can dry skin still become clogged or oily?

Yes. Dry skin can still experience clogged pores, breakouts, or oiliness in certain areas. Skin may be dry overall while still becoming congested around the nose, chin, or forehead.

What should I stop using before my facial?

Avoid strong exfoliants, scrubs, peels, retinoids, and other potentially irritating products for a few days before your appointment, especially if your skin already feels dry or sensitive. Do not pick or scrub at flaky areas. Bring a list or photos of what you are using so we can look at your routine together.

How can I support dry skin at home?

A dry-skin routine usually works best when it stays gentle and consistent.

You do not necessarily need more products. You need products that work well together and leave your skin feeling comfortable.

  • Flat lay sponges and cleanser

    Cleanse without stripping

Your cleanser should remove the day without leaving your skin feeling squeaky, tight, or overly clean. If your skin feels uncomfortable immediately after cleansing, your cleanser or cleansing routine may be too aggressive.

  • Rose quartz spoon with jars - revised

    Moisturize consistently

Apply moisturizer regularly rather than waiting until your skin already feels dry. A facial oil or balm can add more comfort when needed, but it should support your moisturizer rather than replace the hydration your skin needs.

  • Option 2

    Exfoliate thoughtfully

Flaking does not always mean your skin needs more exfoliation. Strong acids, rough scrubs, frequent peels, and constantly changing products can make dry or reactive skin feel worse. The right amount of exfoliation should help smooth the surface without leaving your skin tight or irritated.

  • Keep the routine understandable

A simple routine makes it easier to notice what is helping and what may be causing discomfort. If you are unsure where to begin, bring your products to your appointment or explore the routine resources below.
