How the Back Bar System Works

  • 1. Cleanse and Prep

Cleansers remove makeup, sunscreen, and daily buildup so your skin is ready for the rest of your routine. Exfoliants and masks also fit in this step, helping loosen dead skin cells and prepare the skin for treatment products.

  • 2. Treat and Correct

This step includes toners, serums, and targeted treatments that support hydration, breakouts, uneven tone, and oil balance. These formulas are where you focus on what your skin needs most right now.

  • 3. Moisturize and Seal

Moisturizers and facial oils help support the skin while sealing in hydration from the steps before. This step keeps skin feeling balanced and comfortable throughout the day or overnight.

  • 4. Protect and Prevent

Sunscreen protects the skin from daily UV exposure. It is the final step in a daytime routine and helps maintain the results of the products used before it.

Each product is labeled with a step number that shows where it fits in your routine. The steps move from lighter formulas to richer ones so your skin absorbs what it needs in the right order.

You'll also notice the color of the label deepens as the routine builds. When your products are lined up, they move from a light beige into deeper greens, helping you see the order of your routine at a glance whether you have four products or fourteen.

How to Build Your Routine

Skincare doesn’t need to be complicated. Most routines come back to four steps: cleanse, treat, moisturize, and protect. At Back Bar, I call this the Core Four.

Each product is labeled by step number so you always know where it fits. Most routines begin with a cleanser, followed by treatment products like exfoliants, toners, or serums. Moisturizer helps seal in hydration, and sunscreen protects your skin during the day.

Some people keep their routine simple with just the Core Four. Others add masks or targeted treatments depending on what their skin needs.

Because everything follows the numbered system, you can easily adjust your routine over time without starting from scratch.
